Sharing ideas for looking after emotional wellbeing on NTU?s Mindapple Trees

An annual event will help students in Nottingham focus on their mental health and raise awareness of activities they can do to look after their emotional wellbeing.

University Mental Health and Wellbeing Day is being hosted at Nottingham Trent University on Wednesday 20 February to recognise that mental health is as important as physical health to the overall wellbeing of students and staff in higher education.

As part of a national campaign the event aims to encourage students to share their ideas for looking after their emotional wellbeing and find out information about services provided locally and by the University.

Sarah Bustard, health promotion specialist at Nottingham Trent University, said: "We all have mental health and there is no doubt that the pressures of student life are very significant. Many people know what to do to look after their physical health, but do they know how to look after their mental health??

"1 in 4 people will experience some kind of mental health problem in the course of a year and students are no different. We want Nottingham Trent University to be a place where all students are supported and able to talk about their health, including mental health without stigma."
